Last Day of Walkabout Challenge

I can’t believe that I have been walking, as part of the Walkabout Challenge, for 28 days!

These past 28 days have been pretty awesome. I got to take some great walks with my kids, and really enjoy the kick-off of spring together.

I got to take walks on the beaches of Maui, and reflect on so much in my life, my health, my life.

I got to gain some weight while away, then loose it – and then some – when I got back into a normal routine.

But even more fun was connecting with the other walkers nationwide who participated on this campaign, but also who felt inspired by what we were doing.

For some of us, the process was an easy one. For me it was a continuation of something I had already been doing. But for others it was a beginning. A first step to a better, healthier them, and together we inspired each other to stay on course and just walk – some of us for a few minutes, others for miles and miles. It didn’t matter. As long as we encouraged each other to get out there. Some with our kids, our partners, our friends, and even our pets!

I have most enjoyed taking long walks with my family these past few weeks. It makes the journey much more enjoyable.

To think that the challenge is over seems almost too soon to believe.

There is a lot that I have learned throughout my efforts of improving my life through fitness, but I guess the one thing that still surprises me and which I find remarkable is how many of you are out there reading and listening and watching. How many of you are out there looking for motivation and change.

Though it may be the last day of the 28-Day Walkabout Challenge, it certainly isn’t the last day of fitness for me…or for you.

I would so love to hear how you have incorporated fitness into your life!

Thank you to all my fellow Walkabout Challengers. You have been a fun group and an inspiration to me and my family. Also thanks to Phillip Vasyli, Dr. Andrew Weil and the Orthaheel USA and Weil Integrative Footwear team for the opportunity to be a part of these campaign and for allowing me and my family to represent the message of health and fitness.

Disclosure: I am participating as an ambassador for the 28-day Walkabout Challenge for Orthaheel USA and Weil Integrative Footwear. I received a package which included a pair of footwear among other things. There is no additional compensation for my participation and all opinions are my own.

Congratulations! As the eating keeps going on in Maui I think I may need my own challenge.
