Jet Blue Expands Flights to Samaná, Dominican Republic
Last year, around this time, I took a trip to Las Terrenas and Samaná. My husband and I stayed at the lovely Balcones del Atlantico, and enjoyed so much of what the area has to offer.
Our journey to the area consisted of a flight into Aeropuerto Las Americas in Santo Domingo, the capital city of the Dominican Republic and was followed by a two-hour drive into Las Terrenas area, with Samaná being 30 minutes farther. It was an adventure getting there, one which you can still enjoy if you want to get to see as much of the island as possible. But if your goal is to get to the beautiful coastal town as soon as possible and start your vacation right away, you will be thrilled to know that one of my favorite airlines, Jet Blue, is expanding to their sixth destination in the Dominican Republic and 73rd BlueCity with the addition of Samaná.
Jet Blue is offering twice weekly flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and El Catey International Airport (AZS), on Wednesdays and Saturdays effective November 14, 2012 – the only service between the United States and one of my favorite childhood destination and a growing favorite among tourists.
