Wine Sisterhood: A Celebration of Friendship & Wine in Napa

It feels like forever ago since I went to Napa for the annual Wine Sisterhood Gathering. Like forever since I walked through beautiful vineyards, meeting wine makers and learning about the craft of growing grapes and developing some of the finest wines in the world. Like ages since I was surrounded by friends, both old and new, talking about our love for food, wine, family, and Napa.

My time in Napa always seems to go by too quickly when I am with the Wine Sisterhood ladies. These are days full of tons of information, lots of encouragement, and inspirational messages. It’s a great reminder that no matter how busy we may be, it’s important to take some time to separate yourself from it all and surround yourself with others with whom you can learn and from whom you can be inspired.

I was welcomed warmly, just as I was last year. I made new friends, like the funny and lovely Katie from Hems for Her, and I bonded with friends I already knew, like Dawn and Elizabeth from Party Bluprints.

Wine_sisterhood_gathering_2013_girlgonetravelI discovered new wineries and learned about new ideas in the works at Wine Sister, like their online shop offering tons of gifts and party ideas to further enrich our friendships and social experiences.

I revisited favorite Napa eateries, and enjoyed new ones, like Bistro Don Giovanni, where Italian dishes pampered my palate and warmed my foodie heart.

We celebrated women and entrepreneurs, as well as each other for our own contributions, however big or small, to the example of what it is to follow your dreams, live your passion, and we contemplated on how we can further inspire others to do the same. We laughed over servings of bubblies and award-winning Cabot cheese and teared up over the courageous stories of empowering women who continuously work to help lift the spirits and improve the lives of others.

The Wine Sisterhood Gathering was, once again, a reboot for my creative soul, fueled by wine, food, and friendships. It seems so long ago that I last hugged my wine sisters and lifted my glass in their honor. Lucky for me, there is always next year.

Many thanks to the Wine Sisters and their partners for another unforgettable experience!
