NYC Landmark: Museum of The City of New York

If you want to get a taste of NYC and its rich history, to me, there is no better place to start than the Museum of The City of New York. Though the exhibits change and the information display can be different from one installment to another, the essence of the ci[...]

Getting Happy in New York City

I have been feeling a bit gloomy lately. When I start feeling a little blue I like to grab my camera, put on my comfy sneakers, and walk the city, especially on sunny days like today. Granted it was cold, but man was it pretty. I took my time and pacing myself thr[...]

Sony Wonder Technology Lab, NYC

On a NYC day, very similar to the chilly, cloudy one we are experiencing today, the kids and I set out for  some fun. One of my things about fun in the city, is to pin point the places where that fun can be found inexpensively or free. One such place is the S[...]

New York Hall of Science, Corona, Queens, NY

It's a beautiful, yet very cold day here in New York City.  On days like these many parents are going a little crazy trying to figure out what to do with their kids. I have a few "inside" favorites, like the The Brooklyn's Children Museum, the American Museum of N[...]

Revisiting the Liberty Science Center

Though there is always an endless list of things to do in New York City that are fun and family-friendly, every once in awhile NYCity Mama likes to venture out and take advantage of the wonderful things often found in her neighboring communities. So, just like she[...]

Fleet Week on The Intrepid Space Museum

Memorial Day weekend had begun and I was going to make it GREAT. Because in NYC, Fleet Week is full of activities for adults and kids, and do a pretty good job in celebrating the uniforms that step on shore for a reprieve. And all this "greatness" was going to be k[...]

Carnival Fun at Queens County Farm

I started my day with a walk.  While outside, I could see it was going to be an amazing day.  I came home and was greeted by my husband with, "So what adventure are we going on today, babe?" One would think that with such beautiful weather in NYC finding somethin[...]

Afternoon at the Staten Island Children’s Museum

The boys and I waited for the bus to the Staten Island Children's Museum. The last time I tried to do this was ages ago with 11-year-old, (then only 5) and my husband. We stood on a similar platform, not sure what bus to ride. Unsure of what bus to take, and not ge[...]

Fun Day at Brooklyn Children’s Museum

President's Day in New York City.  To some this was a day when most parents were off from work to care for their children who were beginning a week long mid-winter break from school. Aside from my husband being home from work, I saw this as another day, another o[...]

Free Day at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan

Living in New York City is a wonderful experience. Being able to raise kids here and making it all it has to offer accessible to one's children is also a wonderful experience. Though I appreciate this, I am well aware of how expensive it can be take part in all[...]

Epic morning check list: First day’s screening o Epic morning check list: First day’s screening of The Odyssey in Rochester’s IMAX theater, followed by brekkie and a cafecito or two at @montgomerycourtcoffee, one of our bucket list cafes!

Bonus: getting to connect in person with owner Colin, and walking away with a bag of his Brazil roast, which is 😘👌🏾as a cold brew. The breakfast burritos are a must, but we are late to this game cause everyone already knows, and the vibe is ✨it✨.

If you haven’t already, add them to your list of must-visit cafes in ROC…and yes, the movie was awesome.

Good morning! This Sunday, you can find me in Corn Good morning! This Sunday, you can find me in Corning working @cafecomodony for “Sundays on The Square” from 11-3. Come out and say hi!
July in a few clips. It’s crazy to me how this July in a few clips.

It’s crazy to me how this month flew by. We spent time working on BOTH our small businesses, were intentional in carving out time for the people we love, made sure to take moments to breathe and relax, and got a new puppy 🐾

That fact that it is ALREADY August goes to show just how easily and quickly time can slip you by, and I for one, want to take as much of this life in as I can.

Hoping for more afternoons by the lake, more travel capturing the beauty of this place, more time with my boys before they head off to college, more creative projects with our wonderful @braveworldmedia clients, more conversations and coffee with our @cafecomodony regulars, more laughter with our friends and family, more soft time with my hubby, and so many more moments of feeling joy in building a life on my own terms.

Looking forward to what this month brings.
New cafe alert! @franklinstreetmarketflx in Watkin New cafe alert! @franklinstreetmarketflx in Watkins Glen, NY is the newest, and quite honestly, the best cafe in town. After a couple of tries I have to say this is THE spot for coffee/matcha in WG. Their breakfast sandwiches and smash burgers are SO good (Zomg…the tallow French fries are the most wickedly satisfying indulgence). Open daily till 4pm (with later hours potentially in the horizon), right on Franklin Street, just steps from the pier and a short drive from the @senecalakewine.

Happy eating!

Listen, I have a few more things I want to enjoy, Listen, I have a few more things I want to enjoy, see, and do before summers’ end but as of today there are 56 days till fall and the signs are already here…as seen from the apples that have fallen from our trees.

So if you are hesitating to take that road trip, jump in that lake, camp in those woods, gather outside with friends for a little grilling and fun in the sun, this is your cue to get to it. Time waits for no one. And there’s so much life to live. So, get to it!

See you out there.
