Shout out to my fellow marketing baddies, who can’t just “jump ship” from social platforms, as we hold the fort and do the work that very few even think is worth the money. Let us continue blocking hateful speech, homophobic/racist rhetoric, and internet Karens and Chads on our clients’ platforms while pushing messaging that lets our audiences know they are welcomed, respected, and wanted no matter what they look like, where they come from, or who they love, all while risking our own mental health and emotional wellbeing. Stay strong. We’re all in this together. #marketingpro
One of the saddest things I saw last night as peop One of the saddest things I saw last night as people awaited the shutting down of TikTok was the sadness of losing community. Yes, you had the small business owner who was waiting for the livelihood that they built on that platform being taken away, but even sadder were those who faced losing being heard or supported or welcomed. This vulnerability makes us too susceptible to the nefarious intentions and bad actors at play when it comes to who manipulates and controls these platforms. While I still believe that online communities are incredible and can do good, last night showed just how easily they can be stripped away. I think we should invest more into growing our in-person communities and building spaces that welcome others in. This is where advocacy, activism, and our power grows. That is where our power lies. This is how we build communities and connections that can never be stripped from us. And I wish we were more proactive in those efforts than in retaining a follower count that we can’t trust won’t be taken away tomorrow. Just food for thought.

Proud to announce that my “baby”, our youngest Proud to announce that my “baby”, our youngest, @liamcain._ was accepted to his first choice and dream school, @suny.esf where he will be studying Forest Ecosystems Science 🌳 Liam has worked hard during his time in high school as a volunteer, athlete, honor student, and member of the National Honors Society. He understands the environmental challenges our globe faces, and yet, he feels motivated to be part of the teams dedicated to understanding, learning about, and solving them. We are beyond proud but also so happy for him. His was showered with acceptance to many wonderful schools but this was the one for him and we are just so thrilled that he was able to achieve his goal. 🎉 Go, Liam!! Traveled into New York City to take part in a Latt Traveled into New York City to take part in a Latte Art class led by @joecoffeecompany’s Pro Shop. It’s currently located in Chelsea but they are expanding their learning center into a larger and dedicated location soon! I initially signed up for their espresso class, which would really be helpful in my learning journey, but mistakenly signed up for latte art instead which was still a lot of fun to experience, and I can’t wait to keep practicing on my own! Look at the glow up in my latte art in just two hours! So, if you love coffee and are looking for a fun learning experience, check them out.
