Taking in Prague, Czech Republic

Though I visited Prague for the first time a few weeks now while on a luxury tour with Insight Vacations, it has taken me a bit to really wrap my head around how I was left feeling about it. Prague is a beautiful city, old and historic, artistic and cultural. It[...]

Storybook Destination: Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

In the late 13th century, a small town was developed to accommodate the trading market that was growing along the Vitavia River. The area was built up between 1680 and 1682 under the reign of Prince Johann Christian I von Eggenberg. Because of its ability to reta[...]

Planning Our 2014 Summer Road Trip

Those of you who have followed me for years know that every summer my family tries (keyword "tries") to take an epic road trip. While our first road trip came out of necessity (we didn't have the money to fly all 5 of us to Missoula, MT for my husband's high sch[...]

Getting to Know The Lake Tahoe Region

"Lake Tahoe is not a town, it's a region in both the states of CA and NV." This was one of the first lessons I learned upon arriving to the area as a guest of the Squaw Creek Resort. Like most people, I didn't really understand the geography of the area and, like[...]

Photographing The People of Samaná

Recently I returned to Samaná, a small fisherman's town in the northeastern part of the Dominican Republic where I had spent a couple of my teenage years. A lot about the area has changed. What was once a sleepy town is now a growing tourist destination. Roads[...]

Photographing Mazatlán, Mexico

It's been a few months now since I visited Mexico, and I have tons of images of Mazatlán, the coastal town on my last trip there. It was the kind of place that I think I will have many stories to tell for a while, and I have worked on a piece where I will tell[...]

Eating My Way Through Anguilla

Even though, for the moment, I am more than happy with the chilly weather in New York City, it won't be long before I start wanting to escape to the beach again. My list of favorite beach destinations is getting longer and recently I added another favorite: Anguil[...]

Falling in Love with Dublin, Ireland

My excitement over my recent visit to Ireland seemed to have overflowed while going through immigration at the airport. Not really a place someone would enjoy, except that two things happened. I was standing in line waiting for passport check when a foreign couple[...]

Healing my soul with people I love while trekking Healing my soul with people I love while trekking through glens in search of an eternal flame. 🔥

This hike, in Chestnut Ridge Park, near Orchard Park, a suburb of Buffalo, NY, is a moderate, 1.5-mile round trip (more or less) that takes you on forest trails, with some stairs, and creek walking; so definitely bring waterproof shoes with grip. This popular spot can get crowded, but if you’re lucky enough to have a solo experience like we did (because of rain), it’s pretty magical.
The most perfect date night in the most perfect li The most perfect date night in the most perfect little bistro in the most perfect New York destination. No, not NYC. The Finger Lakes.

The entire experience at @deanlanedining felt so incredibly elevated and special, and some might even say unexpected, especially from a farmhouse in rural Dundee, NY.

Husband and wife team, Michael and Lisa Dean create a wonderful farm-to-table prix fix menu, beautifully paired with wines selected by Sommelier @danbrezinsky, who, for as long as the moment allows, further complements the first tastings with a sharing of his deep knowledge and passion for the Finger Lakes wines he serves. The individual pairings per course (4) are optional but I do highly recommend as they influenced each dish and in some cases, my opinion of certain wines.

The vibe is intimate and personally, I enjoyed the early seating as I got to admire the sunset through the large dining room windows throughout my time there.

Their highly coveted B&B is fully booked for 2026, but reservations are open for limited seating at the restaurant, with menus changing weekly.

An absolute highlight, and a must during your visit to the Finger Lakes!

One of the dreamiest of views for me, that I don’t think I will ever tire of, is mist over the hills and lakes. And rainy seasons like these are perfect for such moments.

After an eventful evening (and thank you all for the love and congratulatory messages🤎), I am eager to spend this rainy day back at my computer getting work done.

It’s a wonderful thing to be immersed in a region you love, and to often be tasked to share its stories with others, it’s a whole other thing when regional representatives not only notice it, but reward you for it.

To listen to others get on stage and talk about that work with such admiration and awe still feels surreal and beyond flattering. It’s overwhelming. And I am grateful beyond words, and excited to continue to do the best that I can for as long as I am welcomed and given the opportunity to do so.

So whether it is for work (@braveworldmedia) or on this page, I am happy to share the stories and many reasons why we, along with so many others, decided to make this our home. ❤️

Thanks for the support and for following along.
