Family and I are in Buffalo, NY this weekend.  We are attending the Buffalo Wing Festival!  We are staying at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Buffalo. Who did we see entering the room next to us?  No other than The Wing King himself!

I was sad…so I came home to my people. I connect I was sad…so I came home to my people. I connected with strangers in so many different occasions, found comfort in that. Most importantly my family knows what we need to do for each other and I am looking forward to continuing to build community for my friends who aren’t as lucky as I am to be surrounded by so much goodness, something that is felt more so, whether you have it, but especially when you don’t, during the holiday season. This remains my focus. I found a lot of what I need to move on to what is next by immersing myself in spaces that felt safe and good. It made such a difference. So to my darling friends, I say again, if I can be that space you need, just let me know. ❤️ Only way is forward ❤️
I spent my teenage years in a country where a woma I spent my teenage years in a country where a woman does not have a right to bodily autonomy or choice - zero, where misogyny and homophobia, and all it brings is embedded in the culture, and where racism and hate towards immigrants, mainly Black immigrants, is prevalent and where socioeconomic divide is wide, and the poor constantly vote against their self interests. This is what we, the ones who experienced a lot of it, did to get through it till we had the power to either escape or work to change it. It’s a lot of what I will do now.

Maybe it’s an oldest child syndrome, or a Gen X syndrome, but kindness is overwhelming to me when demonstrated towards me and so it was a lot to take in and process. But I am eager for there is to learn…which is ALOT. Here I go y’all. ☕️
Looking to explore a different Finger Lakes small Looking to explore a different Finger Lakes small town chock full of character, artsy vibes, warm friendliness, beautiful views, and amazing DONUTS? Definitely drive into Owego, NY. A perfect stop from NYC and Philly, and just a 50 min drive from Corning. I recently went with a craving for donuts from @owegodonutbeerco, which you can pair with any of their beer selections (self-serve by the glass or flight) or some perfectly made espresso. Not in the mood for something sweet? They also have a great selection of sandwiches and other bites to chose from. Quick recap of a friends overnight getaway to Penn Quick recap of a friends overnight getaway to Pennsylvania for a Witches Night Market in Lehighton, and a day of exploring in Jim Thorpe. The Witches Market was larger and even more fun than we expected. We enjoyed the many vendors, and local shops (Anthracite Vintage Mercantile & Auctions was amazing!). Tips when visiting the Witches Market: wait for seating at restaurants can be long, as are lines for food vendors…but the latter are more accessible. Parking is limited but not difficult to access. 📌Area Highlights: The D&L Trailhead in Weissport, and coffee at The Gorge Eatery nearby ☕️ The next day we ventured into the picturesque village Jim Thorpe. Luckily we arrived early because while extremely charming and worthy of a trip, this town is completely overrun by tourists during peak season and weekends. If possible, I would avoid both in my next visit. During this time as well, public parking is limited, and makeshift parking lots are expensive. There are plenty of cute cafes and eateries, all with signs indicating no restroom access, even if you spend money at said business (the one everyone is directed to use is at the train station and the lines are insane). Sooo many cute and sweet shops and architecture. I would like to return when not so busy to better enjoy it, and book a train ticket too! Despite the chaotic crowds, all the small business owners and vendors were so sweet and friendly. Kudos to the community for managing it all so well! I loved it but was quickly overwhelmed. 📌Area Highlights: Bagels at @perchatjimthorpe; books at @sellers_books (with a nice selection of Spanish language books!), plants at Flower Moon, and pastries at the Italian pastry vendor by the train station! #roadtrip #getawaytoPA #weekendescape #jimthorpepa
