There are few places that have really stayed with me long years after my first visit. Italy is one of those places for me. Since my teenage years, when I first set foot in this beautiful country, I have been in love with its Northern countryside, the people, the food, the culture. I wanted to share some photos I took along the way to help to inspire you and hopefully motivate a visit.

Our community of Corning, NY and so many others ar Our community of Corning, NY and so many others around the region have been stepping out and speaking up against the lawlessness and corruption in our government and protesting the inaction of our representatives. If you look at our region on an electoral map, it is tainted in violent red. But land, of which we have plenty here in rural New York, doesn’t vote - people do, and the people are coming out in numbers to be heard. So incredibly proud to be in this community standing unafraid and united against what is happening across our nation. When people think of “Americans” I hope they can see the best among us, despite the continued shame our leaders bring. #fingerlakes #newyork #protest

Mental Health Day with besties. We went back to It Mental Health Day with besties. We went back to Ithaca hitting up some of our fave spots and a few new ones I was able to introduce to them too. It’s tough as an entrepreneur to ignore the emails and texts, and to set boundaries for such things, but whether you are running your own business or working for someone else, there is no denying the benefits of disconnecting from work and other responsibilities for some time to self care. I say it over and over again: I am so lucky to live in a place where experiences like these are easily at my reach, but more so that I have people in my life whom I love to share these moments with. 💕 @bonniejstinson @tonijink I hope this inspires your own day to disconnect and get outside. Though I had visited the region many times over th Though I had visited the region many times over the course of 10 years as a travel writer and blogger, the year we spent in the Finger Lakes during COVID solidified for us wanting to make this place home. And as we find ourselves again in a world that feels a bit unsure and insane, we find solice in the beauty of this place we are so incredibly fortunate to call home. It’s past 8pm on a Monday and I am still grindin It’s past 8pm on a Monday and I am still grinding at work while fighting a cold that is determined to slow me down. Not being able to fully rest due to being so busy is not a flex. 🤧 But this post is not really to whine, though, thanks for reading…it’s more to remind you to check in on your people. Even if they present themselves to be strong, or tell you they are “fine”, or don’t ever seem to need anything or anyone. A lot of people are scared for a myriad of reasons that because of our privilege we might not be able to imagine or have any concept of. We don’t have to be queer, or Black, or an immigrant, or poor, or hungry, or living paycheck to paycheck to give empathy, support, or be a voice for others who are too damn busy surviving to speak or simply listen to those needing to be heard. The struggle does not need to be ours for us to care and want to learn and help. We don’t have to relate for it to be real for others. So check in on your people, and if you have the privilege to do so, offer community to those in need…even if they don’t ask for it. This is how we all make it through. This is how we can save a life and lift a burden. Sending love.
