Napa Winery Guide For The Clueless Wine Lover

I actually don't know anything about wine. Ok, no. I know a little something about wine. Like, I finally know enough about tannins and astringency to understand why I don't normally favor red wines. I am less confused about the whole decanting thing. I've learne[...]

Eating Your Way Through Napa, CA

I know you think that if anyone is going to write anything about Napa Valley in California that they would make it a point to immediately highlight what Napa is best known for: wine. I promise I have that coming, but that which is closest to my foodie heart is the[...]

Beaver Creek Mountain, Colorado Photography

Even though we are still feeling the chill in the air, I can't help but think of the beauty of the warmer months to come. Though I do have hopes to hit the beach, my heart still flutters at the thought of a scene of a different kind: the Colorado Rockies, specifica[...]

Adventures Galore at Finger Lakes, New York

The first time I heard about the Finger Lakes  in upstate New York was while sipping on one of their delicious red wines and laughing it up with one of their lovely tourism representatives - the ladies are indeed lovely, but the wine definitely helped bring on the[...]

Christmas Tree Hunting at Hidden Pond Tree Farm, NJ

Views of Magical Santa Fe, New Mexico

When I told my husband that I would be visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico he spoke about his visit some years ago and how magical he felt it all was. The most I had heard about Santa Fe was how incredible the spas were, and what a great artist community it had, but not[...]

La Posada de Santa Fe, New Mexico

One of the things that I loved the most about my visit to Santa Fe, NM was the sense of history I felt when walking along the streets and in speaking to the people I met during my visit. My friend Sandra and stayed at La Posada, a RockResort, and this only served t[...]

Fall Foliage in New Jersey

When I was 8 years old, my parents and I moved out of the city for a bit and into the suburbs of Teaneck, NJ. After school I would walk home on my own, often taking my time because I had a crush on a boy named Andrew who seemed to move as slow as molasses and with[...]

24 hours of Josie 🐾 have been such a joy as she 24 hours of Josie 🐾 have been such a joy as she has already proven to be every bit of the cuddly, playful, curious, gentle doggie we knew she would be. Will she be put outside to guard livestock? No. She is far more likely to be on the couch getting belly rubs and watching TV with us, or going for long walks in the park or around our country cottage, or falling asleep in her cushy bed.
I’d like to introduce you to the newest member o I’d like to introduce you to the newest member of our family: Josie 🐾 She is a 2 year old Great Pyrenees mix - yes, I know, completely opposite from our previous fur babies. She loves cuddles and scratches, walks, and kisses. She also seemingly loves #Survivalofthethickest and her new bed.

We are teaching her to do more than just sit on command, and have yet to hear her bark, though based on her in-take form at the shelter, she will at the mailman.

Thank you to everyone at @schuylercountyhumane for connecting us with this sweet angel. We are going to shower her with all the love. 💕 Support your local humane society.
