New Victory Workshops: Where kids bring art to life

I often praise the New Victory Theater on my site. I am not employed by them, or under contract with them at any capacity. However, I do like to give them a lot of mention because they are among few great non-profit organizations in the city dedicated not only to t[...]

The fun of Eataly

When I heard the news of Eataly's opening (located at 200 Fifth Avenue), I decided to wait out the excitement of the crowds that I knew would surely follow. And follow it did, with people waiting on long lines for the many authentic Italian goods, as well as a chan[...]

Family Adventures at Keystone Resort, CO

My crew and I went on an adventure to Colorado this weekend. We were making our way from Denver airport to Keystone, CO to stay at the Keystone Resort. The ride was estimated to be about an hour and a half long. But a sudden blizzard had covered the major interstat[...]

Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square

Every year in late November, Lincoln Center celebrates Winter's Eve at Lincoln Square. Celebrities and performers come out in numbers to witness the lighting of the Christmas Tree. This is one of my favorite areas of NYC, and seeing it lit up with holiday lights ju[...]

Holiday Windows in New York City, 2010

When I didn't live in New York City, for one reason or another, I always missed being home for the holidays and the one thing I missed the most about not being home for the holidays was being able to enjoy the amazing window displays. Some of the most famous store[...]

Ground Zero & Statue of Liberty Tour with Kids

I always say that even if you live in or visit New York City, it never hurts, or rather it further compliments your experiences when you play tourist every once in a while. Even the most hardcore New Yorker doesn't know everything about everything that there is to[...]

The Market Place in Asheville, NC

During my last trip to Asheville, NC, I made it a point to check out at least of few favorite local eateries since I missed out on the experience before. I was delighted that my first experience would be The Market Place, headed by Chef /Owner William Dissen. The[...]

A NYC Moment: The best of nothing much in Riverside Park

A lot of what I love about living in New York City is that you don't ever really have to plan anything to end up doing something truly great. Such was the case for us one recent Sunday. The crew and I (minus one pre-teen at the time) headed over to Riverside Park w[...]

Have you ever been to a shop so pretty and cozy it Have you ever been to a shop so pretty and cozy it makes you emotional? In NYC, @niconeco_zakkaya is up there as a fave for me.

This Japanese-inspired stationary boutique in the East Village gives me all the fuzzy feels and I was sad to hear that after 8 years unharmed, their charming shop sign was vandalized.

They are calling on a creative illustrator who might be interested in bringing a new one to life. Check their Insta for more. And as always, support, shop, and give all the love to small businesses wherever you live and your travels may take you. And next time you are in the East Village, go check them out, and their cafe in Williamsburg, @loafonpaperny (see my reel on them). My 🫶🏾 to this little shop.

We did what one does when the weather is just righ We did what one does when the weather is just right and the sun is shining over Brooklyn 🌞

Rode the ferry a few minutes from Dumbo to Williamsburg for a stroll and some delicious coffee.

Walked through Domino Park and into @birdeenyc, where I just had to taste a few of their delicious pastries and churro latte!

Then strolled over to @loafonpaperny and shopped for some pretty stationary goodies while sipping on their Earl Grey Matcha.

The perfect way to kick off a stunning day in the city!

My list of fave cafes continues to grow, and I am saving them in my “NY Cafes” highlights for those who are following along. ☕️

Healing my soul with people I love while trekking Healing my soul with people I love while trekking through glens in search of an eternal flame. 🔥

This hike, in Chestnut Ridge Park, near Orchard Park, a suburb of Buffalo, NY, is a moderate, 1.5-mile round trip (more or less) that takes you on forest trails, with some stairs, and creek walking; so definitely bring waterproof shoes with grip. This popular spot can get crowded, but if you’re lucky enough to have a solo experience like we did (because of rain), it’s pretty magical.
The most perfect date night in the most perfect li The most perfect date night in the most perfect little bistro in the most perfect New York destination. No, not NYC. The Finger Lakes.

The entire experience at @deanlanedining felt so incredibly elevated and special, and some might even say unexpected, especially from a farmhouse in rural Dundee, NY.

Husband and wife team, Michael and Lisa Dean create a wonderful farm-to-table prix fix menu, beautifully paired with wines selected by Sommelier @danbrezinsky, who, for as long as the moment allows, further complements the first tastings with a sharing of his deep knowledge and passion for the Finger Lakes wines he serves. The individual pairings per course (4) are optional but I do highly recommend as they influenced each dish and in some cases, my opinion of certain wines.

The vibe is intimate and personally, I enjoyed the early seating as I got to admire the sunset through the large dining room windows throughout my time there.

Their highly coveted B&B is fully booked for 2026, but reservations are open for limited seating at the restaurant, with menus changing weekly.

An absolute highlight, and a must during your visit to the Finger Lakes!
