I am so excited to be taking a break from work for I am so excited to be taking a break from work for the next couple of weeks to connect with my family and my soul. I enter the holiday season and this new year feeling accomplished and proud of myself for overcoming my insecurities and handling challenges in ways that have been healthy and positive for me. I have a lot of the same concerns many of us in this country do entering 2025, but I am pleased with the foundations I have built and the community of people who have found me and I them. Not sure what the future holds, but I think whatever it brings, I’m gonna be alright, which feels really, really lucky. And for that I am grateful. Happy Everything, and thank you to all for the conversation, support, encouragement, and for reading and following. I appreciate you! ❤️

About last night: Christmas movie night and homema About last night: Christmas movie night and homemade hot chocolate and cookies with dear friends I’ve made here. This past summer was our third year living in upstate NY. And I’ve been thinking a lot about the things I miss the most. I miss walking to a good bowl of ramen, or coffee shop. I miss the sound of different languages and cultures of all kind as a natural part of my day. I miss the chaos of the city. But I admit, it tends to exhaust me quicker than before too. Here’s what, in three years, I have found since our move: An incredibly diverse community of friends, from all walks of life. Many who’ve felt beaten and battered by city life, others who longed to build something of their own but didn’t see a way how elsewhere, and some, who like us, just wanted to be somewhere more naturally beautiful. I have found that we’re here, we’re just not all crowded together on a big rock island of 8 million people. And yeah, it can feel like days before I see another person who looks like me, but it has also helped me to search out and deeply connect with people who share other important values and interests and ideas and aspirations. I have found that because not everything is accessible or exists for us, there are a lot of people working to create the spaces and places that are, making the creative and entrepreneurial spirit here feel bonkers and inspiring. (But less “hunger games” driven than in the city.) I have developed friendships here that I haven’t experienced since my childhood. I have found room to be creative, and courage to take risks, and support and encouragement to pursue passions. A lot of us have it all wrong when we believe we couldn’t exist in places that someone convinced us were not meant for us. Or where we could never possibly thrive. I’m not saying it’s perfect. It certainly is not. And I am back and forth from the city a lot-it’s who I am. But I’m glad I didn’t listen to the noises that would’ve kept me away or set boundaries that would’ve limited and forced me to miss out. The adventure has been worth it. ❤️

This is how I spent a wintery day in Ithaca, NY. ✨ First morning stop at @wideawakebakery’s new storefront in Downtown Ithaca for the freshest and yummiest breads and croissants before they sold out…And you can get coffee there too. ✨The coziest bookstore in town, @odysseybooksithaca (across from Press Bay Alley) feels like a warm hug. With over 8,000 books in store, plus a subscription program for those willing to open themselves up to their team’s recommendations and selections, this little shop has so much to offer the book lover of any age. ✨ @pressbayithaca is such a great spot to go to support the small shops and come together with community during the many events they host there. I explored all the eateries and shops (perfect place to find unique, antique, and often locally crafted gifts), and picked up more coffee from the very cute @presscafeithaca. ✨ For more gift finds, I headed over to @thedewittmall, and stopped into Pastime, for a treasure trove of antique goodies and unique finds.
