Hollywood Preps for The Oscars!
I wasn’t really all crazy for the Oscars, which are being televised from Hollywood, CA tomorrow Sunday, February 24. But, when I went over to CA for a project and stayed in the Loews right next to the Dolby Theatre (formerly Kodak), I got sucked in the excitement of it all as I witnessed the set up taking place for the celebration during my stay.
Crowds of press representatives lined up in one of the hotel’s adjacent lobbies to check-in and pick up their press badges, lines and lines of security walked through to scout the halls and all the surrounding area. Tourists stopped, stared, and took pictures of the spots which in just a few hours will be filled with celebrities.
As I walked behind the scenes of the Dolby Theatre, I couldn’t help but feel what a big deal this all really was, not only for me as a spectator, but for the artists who would be walking through these same halls with the potential of possibly winning one of the most coveted awards and recognitions in the film industry.
Even this New Yorker couldn’t help but get caught up in all the anticipation of tomorrow’s broadcast of the Oscars and want to join in on the Oscar-themed parties that happen throughout in preparation for it.
Everything is pretty much closed off at this point. I got there just in time to be a total fan girl and tourist, including having the opportunity to get all giddy over the fact that I got to stand right in front of Jimmy Kimmel’s studio and walk over all the handprints of some of the most beloved celebrities at the Chinese Theatre. I know, total dork. But, the magic of Hollywood is contagious that way.
