The Search for The Caymankind of Kid [CONTEST]

It’s about that time of year when my family and I sit around the dining room table to talk about our family winter escape. Like with most families, planning a trip is a huge undertaking.

One thing we can always agree on is that where ever we go, we hope that the people are kind and friendly, as it is often the people we meet and our interactions with them that influence our overall experience.

One such place are the Cayman Islands. Made up of three islands – Little Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Grand Cayman – the short flight, only an hour flight from Miami, FL, makes for a convenient getaway.

In the Cayman Islands, the kindness of its people is what they are most proud of. So much so, that they have a word for it: Caymankind.

In celebration of the spirit of Caymankind, the Cayman Islands and Scholastic Parent & Child, are looking for a Caymankind of Kid and invite you to tell them all about him/her. Tell them about your child’s kind act, respect for others, or the care they show for the environment, as well as a photo, and be entered to win an all-expenses paid trip for 4 to the Cayman Islands (one winner will be selected for this grand prize)!

The contest is going on now and ends on March 31, 2014. To enter, please visit www.scholastic.com/caymankind and share how your child reflects the Cayman Island spirit.

There’s no denying that kindness makes life sweeter. What makes it even more special is when it is rewarded with a dream vacation to a beautiful destination. May the most Caymankind of Kid (and their family) win!

And thank you for helping to make the world a kinder place, here at home and every where your travels may take you.
