Weekend Morning at Union Square Greenmarket, NY

Yay!  Not only was this a sunny Saturday, but one of the warmest Saturdays in NYC in a while. We had gotten up early to make our way downtown to Union Square and browse and shop at the local Greenmarket. I fell in love with farmers markets while living in Madison, WI. Tasting the fresh cheeses and breads, smelling the flowers and herbs as I walks by are all favorite pass times of mine.  And It has become one of my favorite things to do on weekends.

The sun was shining bright and warm, the air was fresh, and there was a hint of spring in the air. Everyone was in a great mood. Walked towards the market, I was immediately hit with the scent of fresh flowers and apple cider. And there, in front of me, was a beautiful display of fresh apples, of every kind.

We walked around the crowded market and picked out breads, jams, herbs and vegetables. We were even able to have an early lunch as we walked snacking off of our purchases. Everything was so fresh, having been trucked in from Upstate New York farms and vendors that same morning.

The market is often less crowded during the weekday, and it is a lot easier to navigate through, especially when bringing kids along. The weekend crowds are more fun and not in such a hurry, plus this is almost always when the local musicians will be out entertaining, especially on a nice day.

After the market, we headed to the nearby playground, where the boys got dirty and climbed and socialized, while my husband and I shared an apple cider doughnut and relaxed taking in some rays talking about how cool this city is, especially on easy-going days like these.

Finally had a chance to stop into @thefastracks by Finally had a chance to stop into @thefastracks by @julietsfinds to congratulate her on her sweet shop and journey. If you have been following Juliet, you know she is a pro at thrifting amazing finds, and now you get to enjoy from it all. But I have especially loved following her journey into finding her shop, turning it into what it has become, and now seeing it packed with goodies and customers.

Bravo, Juliet! So happy for you and our community, and wishing you continued success! Go give her some love! She’s right on Bridge St. in Corning!

Time feels like it’s slipping away. Today marks Time feels like it’s slipping away. Today marks one whole month since adopting our sweet little Josie and already we can’t imagine our lives without her in it. How I love her. 💕🐾The most perfect dog in all the world.

Our youngest boys go back to college and I feel like we only just picked them up for summer break.

Summer’s end is near, and while there are a few things I still want and need to do, I will confess I am not entirely sad about it.

Life is a whirlwind. I have no clear view of what’s next or where I am going, but I have a goal 🤷🏾‍♀️So, yay? I am however really happy. There’s something about the unpredictable that I love, and hate.

If only time would slow down just a little bit. I don’t want to miss a thing. But it’s all moving so fast, I am afraid I often do.

Hope you are having better luck at holding on to the moments before they become memories.
Epic morning check list: First day’s screening o Epic morning check list: First day’s screening of The Odyssey in Rochester’s IMAX theater, followed by brekkie and a cafecito or two at @montgomerycourtcoffee, one of our bucket list cafes!

Bonus: getting to connect in person with owner Colin, and walking away with a bag of his Brazil roast, which is 😘👌🏾as a cold brew. The breakfast burritos are a must, but we are late to this game cause everyone already knows, and the vibe is ✨it✨.

If you haven’t already, add them to your list of must-visit cafes in ROC…and yes, the movie was awesome.

Good morning! This Sunday, you can find me in Corn Good morning! This Sunday, you can find me in Corning working @cafecomodony for “Sundays on The Square” from 11-3. Come out and say hi!
July in a few clips. It’s crazy to me how this July in a few clips.

It’s crazy to me how this month flew by. We spent time working on BOTH our small businesses, were intentional in carving out time for the people we love, made sure to take moments to breathe and relax, and got a new puppy 🐾

That fact that it is ALREADY August goes to show just how easily and quickly time can slip you by, and I for one, want to take as much of this life in as I can.

Hoping for more afternoons by the lake, more travel capturing the beauty of this place, more time with my boys before they head off to college, more creative projects with our wonderful @braveworldmedia clients, more conversations and coffee with our @cafecomodony regulars, more laughter with our friends and family, more soft time with my hubby, and so many more moments of feeling joy in building a life on my own terms.

Looking forward to what this month brings.
