NYC Travel Photography: A Stroll to the Park

Not too long ago, the boys and I headed to one of my favorite playgrounds in Central Park, right off of 67th and 5th Avenue. We walked past all the energy and excitement often found along Fifth Avenue…even past some overly excited tourists taking pictures of a man being arrested (oh the excitement of it all!), and past the famous Plaza Hotel, and fairly new Apple Store and FAO Schwarz Toy Store and more.

Hope you enjoy their afternoon in pictures!

That's awesome. I get really nervous in big cities(small town boy here). That doesn't mean I can't appreciate it though.

    Thanks Latina!

Jason: Yeah, when we first moved back from WI the little ones…no, actually, even the older one, were all a little careless. It took some training…now, they are pros (pretty much)!

I occasionally (often) envy those who live in NY and have all that culture available within blocks.

Those of us living in the sticks (Houston) get recycled broadway and apple stores stuck in malls.

But we have yards. Even if they do flood.

    Whining. I'm whining. Sorry.

    Lovely photos.

The southern area of central park is great for just walking around and looking at scenery (or toy stores) but the prices for even a bottle of water are a rip off. Just bring your own food to have a picnic and it's a great place.

Have you ever been to a shop so pretty and cozy it Have you ever been to a shop so pretty and cozy it makes you emotional? In NYC, @niconeco_zakkaya is up there as a fave for me.

This Japanese-inspired stationary boutique in the East Village gives me all the fuzzy feels and I was sad to hear that after 8 years unharmed, their charming shop sign was vandalized.

They are calling on a creative illustrator who might be interested in bringing a new one to life. Check their Insta for more. And as always, support, shop, and give all the love to small businesses wherever you live and your travels may take you. And next time you are in the East Village, go check them out, and their cafe in Williamsburg, @loafonpaperny (see my reel on them). My 🫶🏾 to this little shop.

Rode the ferry a few minutes from Dumbo to Williamsburg for a stroll and some delicious coffee.

Walked through Domino Park and into @birdeenyc, where I just had to taste a few of their delicious pastries and churro latte!

Then strolled over to @loafonpaperny and shopped for some pretty stationary goodies while sipping on their Earl Grey Matcha.

The perfect way to kick off a stunning day in the city!

My list of fave cafes continues to grow, and I am saving them in my “NY Cafes” highlights for those who are following along. ☕️

Healing my soul with people I love while trekking Healing my soul with people I love while trekking through glens in search of an eternal flame. 🔥

This hike, in Chestnut Ridge Park, near Orchard Park, a suburb of Buffalo, NY, is a moderate, 1.5-mile round trip (more or less) that takes you on forest trails, with some stairs, and creek walking; so definitely bring waterproof shoes with grip. This popular spot can get crowded, but if you’re lucky enough to have a solo experience like we did (because of rain), it’s pretty magical.
The most perfect date night in the most perfect li The most perfect date night in the most perfect little bistro in the most perfect New York destination. No, not NYC. The Finger Lakes.

The entire experience at @deanlanedining felt so incredibly elevated and special, and some might even say unexpected, especially from a farmhouse in rural Dundee, NY.

Husband and wife team, Michael and Lisa Dean create a wonderful farm-to-table prix fix menu, beautifully paired with wines selected by Sommelier @danbrezinsky, who, for as long as the moment allows, further complements the first tastings with a sharing of his deep knowledge and passion for the Finger Lakes wines he serves. The individual pairings per course (4) are optional but I do highly recommend as they influenced each dish and in some cases, my opinion of certain wines.

The vibe is intimate and personally, I enjoyed the early seating as I got to admire the sunset through the large dining room windows throughout my time there.

Their highly coveted B&B is fully booked for 2026, but reservations are open for limited seating at the restaurant, with menus changing weekly.

An absolute highlight, and a must during your visit to the Finger Lakes!
