Must-Try Pizza Joints in NYC, Kids Welcomed

The other “local dish” of New York City, the pizza, has a few places where adults and kids can enjoy a good slice, without the lines and with all the simplicity and basics of what makes a New York City pizza a must try when visiting.

Two Boots Pizza – If staying at the Grand Hyatt New York, then you have easy access to fabulous Grand Central Station, which happens to house my kids’ absolute favorite pizza spot (in the lower level food court). The pizza here is fresh and delicious, the service is great, and the prices are not too bad, especially for the amount of food you get. Choose from unique flavor combos like the Tony Clifton (wild mushrooms, sweet red pepper pesto, Vidalia onions, mozzarella) and The Dude (tasso, ground beef, cheddar & mozzarella). Lower dining concourse, Grand Central Station

Patsy’s Pizzeria – Another family favorite, located in East Harlem. Their brick-oven carefully cooks each pie to perfection, locking in the freshness of the ingredients and honoring the Italian pizza maker’s traditions for over 70 years. Definitely worth the trip! 2287 1st Ave

Lombardi’s Pizza – A true Italian joint, where you are made to feel like family. They actually claim to be America’s firstpizzeria, since being licensed by the City of New York in 1905, and therefore regard their founder, Gennaro Lombardi, as the father of American pizza. Truly delicious pies and a must-try for everyone who visits Manhattan! Depending on when you arrive, you might just beat the crowds and easily eat a whole pie without a problem. Especially convenient for guests staying at the nearby Crosby Street Hotel. 32 Spring Street

We found this spot a few years ago, before we moved to the area full time while at a rental nearby and immediately fell in love with its community and cozy vibe, and delicious coffee.

It’s even cuter than when we first visited while all the reasons we love it remain. Always worth a stop when in Geneva.
