Ski and Fun at Pico Mountain, Killington, VT

My family and I made our way out to Killington, VT recently to check out  Pico Mountain. I went on behalf of Trekeroo, a wonderful site where travelers with kids have access to tips, trips, and sights as experienced by other families like themselves, and where I am a proud contributor.

We had a wonderful time and I invite you to check out my reviews at Trekeroo for all the different experiences we had there. My little ones tried skiing for the first time, as did I, as we loved it (I didn’t even fall once!), my 12 year old better mastered his snowboarding skills, and my husband conquered the summit.

Truly and unforgettable time, so I hope you check out What’s Kid Friendly at Pico Mountain Ski Resort featured on Trekaroo!

I have pics that you can view there as well, though most were taken with my iPhone as skiing with my expensive camera in tow was not an option, but I hope that I captured in some of the shots the fun we had and the beautiful time spent there.

Thank you to Pico Mountain Ski Resort for their hospitality and service.

Nice trip! Thanks for sharing! I always like seeing pictures from ski trips since skiing is my passion. We like to take our two little boys (2 1/2 & 4 years old) also skiing but we stay a lot closer to NYC than you guys did. We ski on little mountains with our little boys since the little mountains are big enough for them. Bu as far as I am concerned, I would not even call these local anthills mountains…

Sometimes I find country living too different and Sometimes I find country living too different and unsuitable. But then I have days that exhaust me. Or I am riddled with anxiety and uncertainty - a common theme for me as of late. Or just need to clear my head. Then I find the country to be the best medicine. Maybe it’s the crisp cold air. Or the soothing of the rushing glen. Or the sound of the ravens nesting nearby. Or the soft, cushy moss under my feet. Whatever it is, I am so grateful even when it all feels so unsure. I know this is pretty lucky.

After the rain, this is the sound as the sun sets: After the rain, this is the sound as the sun sets: the song of what seems to be a thousand peepers and the water rushing from the glen down the 100 foot waterfall right in front of our little country cottage.

As much as I still love the noise of my NYC, this wasn’t a bad trade off. ❤️

Now is the perfect time to visit the Finger Lakes if you enjoy waterfalls. Through mud season and again during the rainy days of fall these waterways are the most active and beautiful.

One of the many reasons we love our home in this stunning region.
