Adventure to Orlando, FL!

Just in time to de-frost, I will be taking a 4-day trip to sunny Orlando, FL.  Invited by the lovely people of Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Inc. and the Loews Royal Pacific Hotel, I will be joining another small group of blogger to tour some of Orlando’s most exciting and fun attractions. And I will be taking my 12-year old with me. I know, lucky kid…should probably have write a few articles himself, huh?

We will enjoy the luxury and beauty of the South Pacific offered at the 1,000-room Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando. From lush tropical landscapes to refreshing waterfalls, this exotic resort will have what they promise will make us feel relaxed in no time, something I look forward to for sure! I’m also looking forward to the lagoon-style pool, checking out their kid-friendly Royal Bali Sea interactive play area.

Our itinerary is an busy one and I am excited to share all we do with you. With visits to popular destinations such as Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Gatorland, Seaworld Orlando, and Universal Studio Orlando, this promises to be a fun trip for sure.

My mother and grandmother lived there for many, many years. As a younger child, my now 12 year old visited the parks often, though it’s been some time, and he is thrilled to be going back.

Orlando has changed tremendously over the years, the development has the city expanding more and more, and new businesses have also helped to change the landscape of the Orlando I once lived in.  When my family first moved to Orlando there was hardly anything around, and to visit Orlando now you will find something to do for the whole family easily.

Outside of the parks, Orlando offers a charming and vibrant downtown, with concert halls, restaurants, and shops, just to name a few. My favorite hang out back then was along the Lake Eola Park. It’s a wonderful place to picnic, take a stroll, and even catch some free concerts. I also always enjoyed the nightlife in Universal Studios Citywalk, not sure if we will check it out during this trip, but if you are visiting the Orlando area this is definitely a fun place to visit at the end of the day.

Really, I could go on and on about all the fun stuff to do in Orlando, but I just really want to encourage you to venture outside the parks and resorts and get to know more of the great city. Definitely count on us to share with you the adventures we have during this trip so that you get an idea why it’s such a great family vacation destination. I have a lot of great memories of Orlando and for me, it is actually true that Orlando Makes Me Smile!

Ok. Can I say how jealous I am of you right now?? 🙂 Bahamas and now Orlando? You deserve it though. Can't wait to hear about your trip. We are an Orlando regular family as well. We lived in South Florida for over 10 years so Orlando was our weekend getaway. And now, we still have to visit it at least once a year. 🙂

A perfect little roadtrip idea: Clifton Springs, N A perfect little roadtrip idea: Clifton Springs, NY to explore all the good reads available at the cutest little bookstore, @sulfurbooks.

With its airy feel, with cozy reading nooks and friendly vibes, I could’ve easily spent hours here. Instead, I walked away with some new reads and excitement for my return.

📍Clifton Springs is a 45 min drive from Rochester and a little over 30 mins from Penn Yan, NY.

And the mural is complete! This year, @travisjcain And the mural is complete! This year, @travisjcain was invited to participate in MuralFest hosted by @communityartselmira. His theme was in honor of the Seneca Indigenous culture and their remaining influence on the Finger Lakes and so much of North America.

In the mural you will see depictions of a turtle at center, which is sacred and is believed to be the protector and nurturer of life. The 13 moon cycles is the traditional lunar calendar. Also depicted are long houses, traditional foods such as corn, and an eagle, which serves as a messenger to the Creator and a protector of the Haudenosaunee.

The mural is already marked by the impact of all the rain we had since he started, but today he, @liamcain._ , and @toniiocain worked throughout the day in this very hot sun to complete it. And I couldn’t be prouder or love it more!

If you want to see the mural in person, it is located on the railway wall along Washington Ave. and Lake St. in Elmira, NY across from the old Big Lots parking lot.

Congratulations to Travis and all the artists!

We found this spot a few years ago, before we moved to the area full time while at a rental nearby and immediately fell in love with its community and cozy vibe, and delicious coffee.

It’s even cuter than when we first visited while all the reasons we love it remain. Always worth a stop when in Geneva.
