The Inn at Keystone, CO

While visiting Keystone, CO for their Winter Culinary Festival (more on that soon), I had a chance to check out one of the many different lodging experiences on the resort.

What I appreciate about Keystone Resorts is that guests can choose the lodging that best fits their needs and their budgets without sacrificing the amenities and services.

Last time I visited the resort, I went with my family. Because there were more of us, we stayed in one of the condos at the Dakota Lodge. The condos are great in that they are within walking distance to the slopes. The location is also ideal for walking to shops, restaurants, the ski school, rentals, and pretty much all you would need for your snow fun needs. You can’t walk to the the gym or spa, however, and The Village, located on the Keystone Lodge property as well, requires a car or shuttle.

The Inn, where I stayed, also required a shuttle to get to all of those destinations. As soon as I figured out the shuttle times, which are available at the front desk or by calling the shuttle service desk, I was able to get to all my appointments and desired destinations within the resort without a problem.

On this visit and the last, I found the drivers to be really friendly and helpful. A free shuttle service is such a huge convenience. I had two amazing drivers, Tim and Paul, both natives of somewhere else, who both fell in the love with the area and stayed. Come to think of it, almost everyone I spoke to at Keystone was from some where else.

The Inn at Keystone is smaller than The Keystone Lodge and a bit more intimate. My room, a one-bedroom king size suite (rooms at The Inn start at $197 a night during the time of my stay), included a living room area,  two bathrooms, two television sets, and spectacular views of the mountains. What’s best, Wifi is complimentary for all guests.

This family-friendly, pet-friendly hotel also has a bar, which seems to be a popular destination for visitors and locals alike. With its ample space and pool table, as well as down-to-earth atmosphere, it’s a wonderful place to relax after a day of fun in the snow. They also have an in-house restaurant which is open for breakfast served buffet style or a la carte.

With this new experience I was able to see yet another side of the resort that I hadn’t seen in my last visit. There is something to be said about a place where no one you talk to has anything negative to say about their stay or their experience. Somewhat surreal even. Maybe it’s the constant pow, maybe it’s the beautiful scenery.

I met many wonderful people during my trip, from vacationers who visit for the season, to retirees who uprooted their lives to establish a home in what some described “one of the happiest places to be”.

Tim, one of the shuttle drives went on and on about the concert and snowboarding scene, Paul, much older, went on and on about snowmobiling with friends and finding special spots to picnic and hike.

On this trip, I mostly ate…and went to the spa…and ate. Another fabulous treat to indulge in when visiting. It’s good to know that no matter what your lodging needs, no matter how near or far you are from the main base of the slopes (which is never really that far at all), you can walk away with a unique  and positive vacation experience.

From a mobile coffee cart that started in March of 2024 to a brick and mortar that opened in the cool Rochester neighborhood of South Wedge in June 2025, this sweet little shop is serving up cool vibes and delicious coffee.

Was it my third cup of coffee of the morning? Yes. Was it worth it? A million percent.

Go give them some love. 🫶🏾☕️

Two things easily sooth my soul: coffee and books. Two things easily sooth my soul: coffee and books. And this afternoon was for books. Enter this cool bookstore find in Pittsford, NY: @bookculturepittsford. New for me, but this gem has been a part of the Pittsford community since December of 2021, with another location in NYC on 112th and Broadway. (Founded as Labyrinth Books in 1997).

It looks small on the outside, but it’s a massive space taking up two shops, and a garage in the back dedicated to kids’ books and gifts.

Honestly, they have such a diverse collection I am surprised I only walked away with three books. Could have easily done more damage.

Pittsford itself is a pretty area outside of the city of Rochester and a short drive from the same, with tons to do including enjoying a bike ride on the trail along the Erie Canal (or take a cruise!), shopping in cute stores, and dining in quaint locally owned eateries. A very sweet experience.

Add this shop to your book lover’s must see.

Today is the day we drop off our youngest, @liamca Today is the day we drop off our youngest, @liamcain._, at college. While it is an exciting period of change for all of us, it feels surreal. There was a time this moment felt so, so far away….and yet, now, it feels like it came so quickly. And while I am thrilled for him, and for us, I am also sad. So much to process.

Wishing my “baby” boy all the luck. ❤️
