Going Behind the Scenes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Orlando, FL

Our trip to Orlando, FL is coming to an end. It's insane to think that we have only been here 4 nights. We have done so much in that time that it really feels like we've been here a lot longer.  We've made some awesome friends, both bloggers and not, and have done some really exciting things, but before I get too ahead of myself, I thought I would just start with day one of our trip, with[...]

Adventure to Orlando, FL!

Just in time to de-frost, I will be taking a 4-day trip to sunny Orlando, FL.  Invited by the lovely people of Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Inc. and the Loews Royal Pacific Hotel, I will be joining another small group of blogger to tour some of Orlando's most exciting and fun attractions. And I will be taking my 12-year old with me. I know, lucky kid...should[...]

Three kid-friendly brunch spots in New York City

On Saturday and Sunday mornings (and, often, in the afternoon), restaurants in New York City become flooded for brunch. At some restaurants, people can wait hours for a table. As warmer weather approaches and more outdoor seating options become available, the ritual becomes even more enticing. If you’re in NYC with kids, these are the best spots on the west side: Sarabeth’s West (423[...]

Rock Center Café: A Meal and A View

While on our latest fabulous date-retreat, and after our NBC Studios tour, my husband and I headed over to Rockefeller Center. We had passes to go ice skating at the rink, but the heavy rain outside had forced the rink to close for the day. We walked through the lower level of Rockefeller Center, where those passing by have their pick of shops, eateries, and other businesses. Our pick for[...]

Family fun at The Wild Center, Natural History Museum of The Adirondacks

On our recent visit to The Adirondacks, we made a stop at The Wild Center, the Natural History Museum of the area. It was a beautiful Saturday and the sun was shining bright. Normally on days like these the last thing you want to do is be inside, but the museum is designed in such a beautiful way that you can enjoy all it has to offer, while still being surrounded by sunlight. From the mom[...]

Big Tupper, Tupper Lake, NY

This past weekend the family and I headed out to The Adirondacks in Upstate New York to check out an interesting story about a community that has done some amazing things for itself. I recently wrote about how in 1999 the Big Tupper ski resort was forced to close due to shifts in demand which led to the inability to financially sustain the mountain for skiers. It is clear, even still, tha[...]

Spring, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter Egg Hunts, & Other Reasons to Love NYC with Kids

Ah, Spring. At least that's what it's feeling like today in New York City. The boys and I set out to enjoy a few hours outside, after what seemed months of hibernation or enduring the cold. As my kids ran and laughed and played with the other kids, and I mingled and chatted with the smiling parents relieved to be out as well, I began to get excited about the many things that are coming up[...]

Ski and Fun at Pico Mountain, Killington, VT

My family and I made our way out to Killington, VT recently to check out  Pico Mountain. I went on behalf of Trekeroo, a wonderful site where travelers with kids have access to tips, trips, and sights as experienced by other families like themselves, and where I am a proud contributor. We had a wonderful time and I invite you to check out my reviews at Trekeroo for all the different ex[...]

Sony Wonder Technology Lab, NYC

On a NYC day, very similar to the chilly, cloudy one we are experiencing today, the kids and I set out for  some fun. One of my things about fun in the city, is to pin point the places where that fun can be found inexpensively or free. One such place is the Sony Wonder Technology Lab in Sony Plaza on 56th St and Madison Ave. This 4-story museum is filled with fun and interactive tech[...]

We found this spot a few years ago, before we moved to the area full time while at a rental nearby and immediately fell in love with its community and cozy vibe, and delicious coffee.

It’s even cuter than when we first visited while all the reasons we love it remain. Always worth a stop when in Geneva.
