Four of The Best Candy Stops in NYC

We’re just not talking about any old candy. We’re talking about the good stuff, the things that make kids both young and old giggle in delight at the sight of it all. Sweeten up your trip to New York with a stop at these four candy stores.

The predictably awesome M&M World in Times Square is where images of those green, blue, yellow, and red candy characters we all know and love greet you at the door. Three floors of every chocolate, in every color imaginable and then some await just beyond. 1600 Broadway

Next, try Dylan’s Candy Bar. The first floor is a wonderful selection of designer candies and some inedible — but somehow still yummy — spa choices, like Coconut Bon Bon Soda Pop Shower Gel or Chocolate Cupcake Ice Cream Sugar Scrub. If you’re in the mood for some creamy treats or just a good cup of java, the third floor has a colorful cafe with amazing ice cream concoctions that will keep the kids on a sugar high long enough to make it through the rest of the day — or crash at one of the area’s family-friendly hotels, such as Affinia Gardens. 1011 3rd Ave.

If buying in bulk is your style, then Economy Candy Market (across the street from Hotel on Rivington on the Lower East Side) is your place. The aisles and aisles of candy, from favorites that span generations to newer selections, are a sweet tooth’s wonderland. And though they also offer sugar-free options, it’s hard to resist the incredible jelly bean selection. 108 Rivington St.

And with unique hard candy delights like grapefruit-basil and orange-cardamom, the artisan creations at Papabubble are unforgettable not just for their flavors but also for the experience: You’ll get to watch the candy being made right in front of you. Monogrammed special orders are also available. 380A Broome St.

We found this spot a few years ago, before we moved to the area full time while at a rental nearby and immediately fell in love with its community and cozy vibe, and delicious coffee.

It’s even cuter than when we first visited while all the reasons we love it remain. Always worth a stop when in Geneva.
