Fun and Sun in San Antonio, TX

San Antonio just celebrated their 2013 Fiesta San Antonio, an event that has been taking place since 1891 and started as a simple street parade. Now it is put together with the collaboration of various San Antonio businesses, hosting events for an entire week. The funds from the festival serve to assist communities throughout San Antonio. This is probably what I loved about San Antonio th[...]

Richmond, VA Food: A Glimpse of The Feasting

I spent a long weekend eating my way through a portion of Richmond, VA. I say "a portion" because I left with a sense that I had only really touched the surface of all that there is to taste. I will go into more detail of every single one of the places I feasted in, all of which you must note, remember, record, and not miss when you visit Richmond, VA...because you will want to visit.read[...]

Trails, Haunted Houses, and Lake Surprise: Watchung Reservation

On Spring days like the ones we have been enjoying lately, it's pretty hard to stay inside. Museums and movie theaters become difficult to endure, especially if you love the outdoors as much as we do. Being in NJ has made it so much easier to access countless hiking trails and nature paths. Our most recent find: Watchung Reservation, in Union County, NJ, 2,000 acres of protected land with[...]

Beach, Sun, and Ice Cream at Ipswich, MA

Several summers ago, we made plans to visit our friends near Boston, MA.  We were excited to return, since we had enjoyed Boston so much last time we visited.  What we didn't know at the time was that this weekend would be the weekend when NYC would experience its first heat wave with degrees rising past the 90s. Now, for all the love that I have for my city, on days like those experienc[...]

The Best Reason to Travel

There are a lot of reasons why people travel. Some people travel to lose themselves, others travel to find themselves. Some people travel to escape, others to find home. Some look for adventures and new discoveries, others to reconnect with memories and long-lost friends. We have traveled for a lot of reasons, but my most favorite reason to travel is to be with those we love the most[...]

Touring Madava Farms, Home of Crown Maple Syrup

On a lazy Saturday, one of the first of Spring, my family and I decided to venture out to Dutchess County, NY on a maple farm tour. We had first toured a maple syrup farm in Lake Placid a couple of years ago, and though the terrain was had more snow and the weather was colder, we learned a lot about the process and got to take home some yummy syrup. This time, we were venturing to the H[...]

Do what you love.

The video below has been circulating around the Internet for some time now. I saw it a few months ago, but saw it again just recently when a friend saw it and thought of me - something which I have to say flattered me deeply. And this is because I believe in this message wholeheartedly. I have blogged about it often, I live each day by the mantra that money is not the answer to happines[...]

Pitching Bloggers: To Call or Not To Call

I am having a hard time focusing this morning. I am exhausted from a 5 and half day trip and am feeling the pressure of impending deadlines. It's taking me a bit to get to things, but I was just getting to it when my phone rang. 212 number. NYC. I immediately imagined it was an agency calling because many agency and brand representatives with whom I have a relationship do sometimes call me[...]

Favorite Asian Cuisine Spots in NYC

The few times I lived out of NYC, one of the things that I most missed was the Asian food selections here. Whether it was the corner Chinese carry-out place or the Indian eatery downtown, few places can be as good, or even as authentic, as the food served in this wonderful city - well, unless you actually go to the country itself, of course. Check out my list of favorite Asian food eateri[...]

Unique Winery Experiences in Napa

Oh, how I enjoy Napa. Just like there is a wine for each palate, so is there a winery for each personality. On my first visit, I got to check out some pretty incredible wineries, but going back made me realize I didn't even begin to cover the tip of it all. And truly, it would take a lot more than just a long weekend to check out the over 450 wineries in the region, all of them so differen[...]

Signs of autumn 🍂 in the Finger Lakes. Signs of autumn 🍂 in the Finger Lakes.

We are celebrating @travisjcain today on his birth We are celebrating @travisjcain today on his birthday but also for all he does for me and our sweet little family. Here we are in a lux NYC hotel, enjoying early morning room service to start his day.

This weekend Travis navigated the chaos of New York City traffic with our cafe trailer in tow, for what was my insane dream to do a pop-up in the city. And he did so beautifully and safely.

To say that my dreams and wild pursuits in life have kept this man *stressed* and on his toes for the 20+ years we have been together is an understatement. And while we may butt heads, in the end he doesn’t say no and supports me and uplifts me.

An amazing father, and those who are lucky enough to call him friend know he’s a treasured one. A talented artist and creator. And we love him to pieces.

Happy birthday, my beautiful Travis. May life give you all you deserve and all your dreams, even if peace while being married to a crazy dreamer like me isn’t one of them. 🤣🤭 I love you.

Bucket list coffee shop: @mercurycoffeeco 🤎 Fr Bucket list coffee shop: @mercurycoffeeco 🤎

From a mobile coffee cart that started in March of 2024 to a brick and mortar that opened in the cool Rochester neighborhood of South Wedge in June 2025, this sweet little shop is serving up cool vibes and delicious coffee.

Was it my third cup of coffee of the morning? Yes. Was it worth it? A million percent.

Go give them some love. 🫶🏾☕️

Two things easily sooth my soul: coffee and books. Two things easily sooth my soul: coffee and books. And this afternoon was for books. Enter this cool bookstore find in Pittsford, NY: @bookculturepittsford. New for me, but this gem has been a part of the Pittsford community since December of 2021, with another location in NYC on 112th and Broadway. (Founded as Labyrinth Books in 1997).

It looks small on the outside, but it’s a massive space taking up two shops, and a garage in the back dedicated to kids’ books and gifts.

Honestly, they have such a diverse collection I am surprised I only walked away with three books. Could have easily done more damage.

Pittsford itself is a pretty area outside of the city of Rochester and a short drive from the same, with tons to do including enjoying a bike ride on the trail along the Erie Canal (or take a cruise!), shopping in cute stores, and dining in quaint locally owned eateries. A very sweet experience.

Add this shop to your book lover’s must see.
